The recently concluded NY NOW survived the blustery winter weather and marked strong attendance and brisk buying.
The winter 2015 edition of NY NOW ran Jan. 31 through Feb. 4 at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
“NY NOW presented attendees with an outstanding market for design-driven, stylish and sophisticated product, and exhibitors were delighted with the brisk pace of order-writing,” said Randi Mohr, market co-director and vice president. “Our attendance this winter increased from winter 2014, and was on par with summer market levels, with buyers from all 50 states and 80-plus countries in attendance.”
Among NY NOW’s 2,800 exhibitors, the winter edition featured a number of new resources, with 150 companies returning from a market absence and nearly 400 exhibitors making their debut.
Many vendors reported not just an increase in order-writing along with an increased quality of buyers.
“Opening day was the single best day we’ve had since we debuted here three years ago,” said Garrett Childers with Emporium Home. “Since then, we've noted a marked increase in designer buyers and the opening up of those designer budgets. This show, we had great visibility and saw very robust traffic. NY NOW put us on the map. We are happy to be here and to stay here.”
The snowstorm on the Monday of the market seemed not to deter attendees working the show.
The summer 2015 edition of NY NOW, the Market for Home + Lifestyle, will run Saturday, August 15, through Wednesday, Aug. 19, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
