IDS Sets Conference Speakers

The speaker lineup for the Interior Design Society national conference has been set.

The IDS conference, themed “#INNOVATION 2.0: The Evolution of Branding”, will be held May 19-20 in Fort Myers, Fla.

Conference attendees will learn strategies to build a brand using today’s technology and innovations in design.

The conference features Jennifer Bertrand as the celebrity guest speaker. Bertrand won HGTV “Design Star” season three and hosted “Paint Over! with Jennifer Bertrand.” She has appeared in countless media outlets such as USA Today, The New York Post, Rachel Ray Magazine, Life & Style Magazine, InStyle Magazine and is a frequent contributor to NBC. Bertrand is scheduled to speak on May 20.

“We're very excited to have Jennifer Bertrand as our celebrity speaker. Not only is she a former “Design Star” winner, she's also well-known for her philanthropic efforts which is a good fit with the new pro bono initiative we'll be launching at the conference. Her remarkable story and positive attitude are sure to inspire our attendees,” said Snoa Garrigan, executive director.

The two-day conference will offer a wide range of learning opportunities, entrepreneurial insight, plus tips and tools for running a design business.

On May 19, the lineup will consist of keynote speaker Amy Flurry, creative director of Parlore, a new app for interior design professionals. Flurry’s presentation will address how to get projects published. Following Flurry, Jason Harris, founder of The Design Network (TDN) and executive vice president of Furnitureland South will use his online interior design channel TDN to demonstrate the power of video.

On May 20, public relations expert Mary Leigh Howell will address “Understanding and Working with the Media,” followed by celebrity speaker, Jennifer Bertrand whose seminar will demonstrate how to create a buzz and promote your brand.

Both afternoons will feature hands-on opportunities for attendees to explore and interact with new technologies influencing the design industry at The Design Tech Summit.
