December 3,
2014 by in Designer Weekly
Modern and contemporary Brazilian furnishings specialist Espasso will present the Em Trânsito exhibition at the Shore Club in Miami this week, concurrent to the Design Miami 2014 show.
Em Trânsito, at the Shore Club, 1901 Collins Ave., launches new mid-century reissues, special limited editions and one-of-a-kind pieces by most celebrated 20th-century Brazilian architects and designers.
Em Trânsito showcases the rich, innovative and whimsical design sensibility of Brazil, which traditionally transcends and conflates old and new, hard and soft, European, Indigenous and African influences; while in the process paving the way and establishing a fresh aesthetic and culture, where the flux of new ideas is favored over fixed "isms."
The Dec. 4-7 exhibition features works by Sergio Rodrigues, Claudia Moreira Salles, Jorge Zalszupin, Fernando Mendes and Julia Kratnz, Oscar Niemeyer, Isay Weinfeld, Carlos Motta, Zanini de Zanine and Etel Carmona.
The exhibition is open by appointment only Dec. 8-Jan. 4.
