Capel Rugs awarded prizes to three customers participating in its "Williamsburg Getaway," Biltmore and "Selfie" contests during the October High Point Furniture Market.
The winner of the "Williamsburg Getaway" contest, determined by raffle, was Judy Labs, a buyer with Welling, Ripley & Labs, a Kalamazoo, Mi., store specializing in fine furniture and interior design. Her prize includes a two-night deluxe stay for two people at the Williamsburg Lodge in Williamsburg, Va., daily breakfast at the Traditions Restaurant, Colonial Williamsburg admission for two, two Tavern refillable mugs, a $100 resort activities card and a gift bag of Williamsburg products.
Susan Long won the Biltmore raffle. She is owner of Individually Selected in Anniston, Al., a store specializing in linens, bedding, rugs and other home accents. The prize basket includes two daytime admission tickets to Biltmore, a bottle of wine, wine opener, candle, soup mix, leaf dish with spreader, server tray with leaf bowl, two kitchen towels, a Biltmore Traditions cookbook, ceramic leaf bowl, serving utensils, monogrammed tray and a wine chiller.
The winner of the third contest--in which visitors to the Capel showroom posted "Selfie" photos of themselves along with their favorite new Capel rug on Instagram--was Judy Eden, owner of Oak Leaf Interiors in Willow Park, Texas, an interior design specialist. Eden's prize was a free, 8-by-11-foot version of her favorite new rug, Capel's Berkeley model in a granite color way.
All of the Selfie contest entries are available for viewing on Capel's Instagram page or by searching by #SelfieCapelRugsEntry.
"This was a very successful market for us," said Allen Robertson, vice president of sales for Capel Rugs, Troy, N.C. "Retailers were looking for fresh styles and innovative constructions, and we delivered on both fronts while also providing the quality and value they expect from Capel."
