Vaughan-Bassett Makes Move to Premium Youth Goods
October 1,
2014 by in Product, Youth, Juvenile Furniture
The new collections are: “The French Market,” an updated take on Louis Philippe styling offered in four finishes; “Nantucket,” a casual/cottage collection offered in four finishes; and “Commentary,” a contemporary group offered in four finishes. All three groups will be manufactured at the company’s main factory in Galax, Va.; and all of the finishes will be kept in stock.
All case pieces in the premium youth collections will have linear ball-bearing drawer guides and snag-free finished drawer interiors. The desks come with built-in charging stations, and all groups feature a choice of different beds available in twin, full and queen. Twin beds will retail for $499.
“Buyers of youth furniture today expect more," said Chairman John Bassett. "Not only are premium design features like ball-bearing drawer guides becoming the norm, but the buyer wants well-styled, well-built furniture and she expects to get to chose what she wants and not have to wait for it. Our American-made collections not only feature several choices in style and finish, they will be kept in stock and delivered with the same speed our dealers have come to expect on our Vaughan-Bassett VBX product. We want to be the prime resource for a premium American-made youth product at a Vaughan-Bassett price.”
The collections join five other existing youth offerings in the Vaughan-Bassett line. Vaughan-Bassett regularly offers up to four or five different in-stock finishes within a collection. With the addition of the new groups and counting all finishes, Vaughan-Bassett will have a total of thirty-one youth groups across eight different styles.
“French Market,” the first of the new collections ships before October market, with the other two groups shipping by the end of the year.
