Newport Home Furnishings Expanding Operations

Upholstery supplier Newport Home Furnishings is expanding its New Albany, Miss., operations and adding to its workforce.
Upholstered furniture manufacturer Newport Home Furnishings is expanding its operations and adding 45 new jobs, officials announced Wednesday.
The company builds stationary and motion sofas, loveseats, chairs and recliners, and said the expansion was needed to accommodate increased sales.
The Mississippi Development Authority also provided financial help by funding the construction of an industrial access road that will serve Newport and the Glenfield Industrial Park in New Albany. The Appalachian Regional Commission, Union County and the City of New Albany also provided assistance.
