Billy Ocean, Little River Band to Perform at Fall Market

On Saturday, Oct. 18, Center Stage will be transformed into a Caribbean paradise for British recording star Ocean. Known for his worldwide, chart-topping hits such as “Caribbean Queen” and “Get Out of My Dreams, Get Into My Car.” Ocean has sold more than 30 million records over the course of his career. He won a Grammy Award in 1985 for “Best Male R&B Vocal Performance.” In 2008, Ocean released his first album since 1993 and once again embarked on successful European and American tours. His latest album, “Here You Are,” was released in 2013 and brings his total number of albums to eleven.

On Sunday, Oct. 19, Center Stage will go “down under” in welcoming Australia's Little River Band, with worldwide albums and CD sales topping 30 million. Formed in Melbourne, Australia, in 1975, Little River Band has set a record for having Top 10 hits for six consecutive years--the first band to achieve this mark. Their hit song “Reminiscing” has more than 5 million airplays on American radio, and “Lady” is close behind with more than 4 million airplays. Little River Band was inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association Hall of Fame at the 18th Annual ARIA Music Awards of 2004.

Doors open for all events at 7 p.m. at Center Stage, between the Transportation Terminal and Showplace, and the concerts will begin at 7:30 p.m. Please note, doors will open at 6:45 p.m. for market-goers who have been issued a Buyer pass. Food and drinks are provided to all market-goers with a current Fall Market pass and photo ID. No one under the age of 15 will be admitted.
