4 Companies Honored with Accent on Design Awards

Four companies – AREAWARE, Elyse Graham, fferrone design and Leibal – received Accent on Design awards this week in recognition of product design excellence, innovation and creativity.
The winners are all exhibitors in Accent on Design, a juried collection of contemporary designers and their products, presented at the summer 2014 edition of NY NOW.
Two awards were presented for excellence in product design, one was presented to a rising star and the fourth for best collection.
EXCELLENCE IN PRODUCT DESIGN
AREAWARE for its Liquid Body Flask, an ergonomic flask designed with hydro-inflation, a technique that inflates two stainless steel sheets like a balloon, creating a unique, liquid-like form that varies with each individual flask.
EXCELLENCE IN PRODUCT DESIGN
Leibal for its World Clock, featuring 24 international time zones and a counterweight that positions the clock back to your current city when placed on a surface.
BEST COLLECTION
feronne design for its Glassware Collection, a set of four distinctive collections – Margot, Revolution, Tulip and Dearborn – handcrafted in the Czech Republic and each featuring its own unique point of view indicative of the company’s modernist roots and minimal aesthetics.
RISING STAR
Elyse Graham for its collection of celestial-inspired vases, jewelry and decorative objects uniquely hand-cast with plaster inside balloons.
“For three decades, these awards have recognized superlative design talent and innovative products,” said Jaime Sikorjak, Accent on Design sales manager. “We’re delighted to recognize four companies that are utilizing extraordinary techniques to create unique products.”
