High Point Market, ASID Set Design Viewpoints Series

The High Point Market Authority in association with the American Society of Interior Designers, has set the schedule for its expanded seminar series at the Fall High Point Market.

The Design Viewpoints Series will take place Oct. 18-21, starting each day at noon in the High Point Theatre, at the Transportation Terminal in downtown High Point.

The series offers up to .4 continuing education units (CEUs) to those who attend.

Sponsored by online retailer Horchow, all seminars in the Design Viewpoints Series are free to interior designers and retailers attending the Fall High Point Market. A complimentary boxed lunch and a beverage are offered to every attendee.

Additionally, a drawing will be offered each day for a Horchow $500 gift card. On tap for the series is a discussion on risk management techniques, a debate on “boomer vs. millennials” from the designer and retailer perspective, the eco-friendly and hypoallergenic home (with BONUS Panasonic giveaways!) and, back by popular demand, color trends for 2015.

“At Spring Market earlier this year, we expanded the Design Viewpoints Series, as our research showed that interior designers and retailers come to the High Point Market to see new products, network with old and meet new friends, and take advantage of our course offerings for continuing education credit,” said Tom Conley, president and CEO of the High Point Market Authority.

“We saw close to 500 attendees come through the High Point Theatre doors for this seminar series, proving that our research was correct. We will offer a total of .4 continuing education units at our Fall Market, giving interior designers a significant leg-up on achieving their 1.0 complement of CEUs needed for certification in year 2014,” Conley said.

“ASID has joined High Point Market once again to offer first-rate speakers on topics that are of value to interior designers today,” said Randy W. Fiser, CEO of ASID. “Collaboration with the High Point Market allows the opportunity to offer quality educational opportunities for our members and High Point Market attendees during one of the industry’s most respected home furnishings shows.”

Topics and speakers for the Fall 2014 Design Viewpoints Series include:
