Latex International has resumed full production two weeks after fires shut down the foam mattress and pillow producer's River Road facility in Connecticut.
The Shelton, Conn.-based company said it had begun producing its most popular latex cores and will start manufacturing additional products by the end of the week. Manufacturing of rolled goods is at full capacity and product is being shipped from both Connecticut and Texas.
Following an extensive clean up, Latex International executives have stated that the official investigation into the fires is complete and that its own employee task force is working to fine tune its manufacturing.
“We have eased our way back into full production to assure that we don’t experience any further issues,” said Latex International President and Chief Executive Officer David Fisher. "I am pleased that the clean up was executed quickly allowing us to return to business as usual with minimal disruption to our customers. We anticipate that in addition to fulfilling client orders, we will start making samples of the new Pure Latexbliss products being featured at Las Vegas Market at the end of the month.”
Founded in 1975, Latex International is the world’s largest manufacturer of latex mattresses and pillows. Latex International manufactures latex in Shelton, Conn., and manages over 10 distribution and fabrication centers throughout the world.
