Go American in Dallas

2014 by in Designer Weekly
“Welcoming the American Made Show to Dallas will offer our buyers the largest collection of quality, American-made merchandise in the southern U.S.,” said Bill Winsor, president and CEO, Dallas Market Center. “As champions of unique product and small business, the partnership is a perfect fit and we look forward to more than 200 independent designers joining us for Market in June 2015.”
“Retailers on Main Street, in museum shops and even in our National Park stores are under increasing pressure from their customers to carry more American-made products,” said Wendy Rosen, president and founder, American Made Show. “It’s our job to provide an authentic alternative to the look-alike imports that are often presented as authentic American handcrafts. We’re pleased to offer hundreds of lines to Dallas buyers and allow our designers to access a new customer base.”
The American Made Show to be held in Dallas is in addition to the show’s Jan. 16-19, 2015 Market in Washington, D.C. The American Made Show is the nation’s premier wholesale market for designer products handcrafted by studio artists from the United States and Canada. It caters to professional artists who wholesale their work and retailers who value the distinctively different look of handcrafted American and Canadian products in their stores. Designers include the “Maker” movement, a new generation of micro-manufacturers, who are innovating and producing solo or with small staffs. Many of these small-scale producers start their businesses on kitchen tables or in their garages, testing sales at local farmers markets, fairs or with well-known e-retailers.
Show management from each respective organization will continue to be responsible for exhibit sales and buyer pre-registration. Exhibit space will be initially offered by invitation later this summer to current exhibitors of the American Made Show’s January Market in Washington, D.C.
