Customatic Adjustable Bedz Expands Taiwan Plant

The new area will feature a number of cutting-edge manufacturing technologies designed to improve quality control and efficiency, as well as streamline assembly procedures. This is the third expansion for its Taiwan plant over the past few years bringing total square footage to 300,000 and employment for 230 associates.
Before this announcement, the most recent expansion occurred in 2012 when a 120,000 square foot addition delivered expanded corporate offices and state-of-the-art cut and sew textile department, featuring robotic welding machinery, an internal powder coating system with enhanced finish options, and more dedicated assembly lines to increase productivity.
“The adjustable base category is one of the fastest growing sectors in the sleep products industry right now as consumers of all ages are beginning to embrace the benefits of this technology. We are expanding in order to meet the growing needs of our customers and get product to them much more efficiently,” said Phil Sherman, partner at Natick, Mass.-based Customatic Adjustable Bedz. “These factory updates aid us in more readily phasing in bigger and better product innovations. After nearly doubling our manufacturing capacity over the last year, we are confident these moves will position our customers and partners alike for stronger growth and increased margins moving forward, assuring greater success for all.”
Founded in 2010 by industry veterans Phil McCarty and Phil Sherman, today Customatic Adjustable Bedz distributes products nationally through strong partnerships with top-name mattress manufacturers, leading domestic distributors and major furniture and specialty sleep retailers.
