An unnamed upholstery company based in High Point is considering opening an assembly and distribution facility in Ramseur, N.C.
Bonnie Renfro, Randolph County Economic Development Corp. (EDC) president, will make a request on behalf of an unnamed company at Monday’s commissioner meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the Historic Courthouse on Worth Street.
Renfro could not disclose the name of the company Friday but said that a private company based in High Point is considering opening an upholstered furniture assembly and distribution operation in Ramseur. Renfro said Friday this is an expansion for the company which has no plans to close its High Point facility.
In her prepared remarks for the board, Renfro said the global company was founded in 2006 by the merger of three furniture firms. They currently employ 113 at two existing operations in North Carolina, including their corporate headquarters.
