Country Living plans to open its 2014 House of the Year in Rhinebeck, N.Y., June 6-8.
Created by Catskill Farms, in collaboration with guest designers Suysel dePedro Cunningham and Anne Maxwell Foster of Tilton Fenwick and Country Living editors, this year’s project is a 1,500-square-foot “new old home” that captures the charm, beauty, and character of the past.
“We're thrilled to present our 2014 House of the Year in Rhinebeck, a vibrant Hudson Valley town that embodies the Country Living lifestyle," said Rachel Hardage Barrett, editor in chief. "Infusing historic charm with fresh design elements, this new old house will epitomize the inviting, sit-and-stay-awhile style that readers associate with the Country Living brand."
Located about 2 hours north of New York City, Rhinebeck is also hosting the first Country Living Fair of the season. All Rhinebeck Country Living Fair ticket holders are invited to take a complimentary tour of the nearby house.
The house will be open for public tours Friday, June 6, through Sunday, June 8, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Country Living Fair will take place at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds on Route 9 in Rhinebeck, N.Y. The magazine will provide shuttle service for fair ticket holders to tour the house.
The house will only be open to Fair ticket holders and can only be visited via the shuttle bus service.
Fair admission is $13 in advance and $16 at the door; three-day weekend passes are available for $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Free admission for children ages 16 and under.
Tickets can be ordered online through Stella Show Management Co.
