This week's High Point Furniture Market marks case goods vendor Legacy Classic Furniture's 15th anniversary in business.
Legacy Classic Furniture began in March 1999 with three friends, Kevin O’Connor, Jerry Sagerdahl, Richard Mihalik, in an apartment substituted as an office with only a phone and a fax machine. Legacy Classic’s first High Point Market was April 1999, when they set up a temporary showroom space at the Grandover Resort. Today, Legacy Classic and Legacy Classic Kids are part of Samson Marketing, with 175,000 square feet of office and warehouse space and a 45,000 square foot showroom at The Plaza Suites in High Point.
The original team had a clear vision, the entrepreneurial spirit to follow it, and the passion to make it a reality. They established retail partnerships built on trust, operational expertise, and quality products that represented a value. They were the first to introduce and set a standard for direct mixed containers, allowing retail partners the ability to cost effectively offer multiple categories and styles of furniture directly from one manufacture. Fifteen years later, following those same principles and values, Legacy Classic and Legacy Classic Kids are companies recognized as leaders in the industry with dedicated employees and customers.
Jerry Sagerdahl, one of the original partners, and vice president of sales for Legacy Classic & Legacy Classic Kids, said, “We are proud of Legacy Classic and continue to work hard to strengthen the vision and passion that defined us in the beginning.”
“To Legacy Classic’s employees, sales force and customers, it has been a great fifteen years of achievements," added Kevin O’Connor, original partner, and president/CEO of Samson Marketing. "I thank you for your dedication and support of Legacy Classic and our business model, and to our commitment of providing unparalleled service. We’ve done amazing things together, and I feel the best is yet to come."
