Lexington Hosts 'Destination Design' Event

Lexington Home Brands is hosting a Destination Design event during High Point Market featuring designer Tobi Fairley and an editor from Traditional Home.

The  breakfast event, geared toward design professionals, will take place Saturday at 8:30 a.m. in the Lexington showroom at 1300 National Highway.

Fairley, whose work is featured regularly in print and online, will be speaking on the subject of “Insider Tips for Getting Published.” She will address how-to issues like photo styling pointers, how to package projects for submission and key elements that will catch an editor’s eye. Fairley’s work is featured on the cover and in an article in the April issue of Traditional Home. Krissa Rossbund, senior style editor with the magazine, will join Fairley to offer her perspective as an editor, on how top shelter magazines select projects for publication. Guests will be encouraged to join the conversation during an open question and answer session following the presentation.

This is the second Design Destination event Lexington has hosted.

“At our design professional’s event in October, we heard a very consistent message from attendees that they wanted our help in facilitating a high-energy forum geared towards growing and marketing their business,” said Phil Haney, president and CEO. “We believe that Tobi Fairley has done a remarkable job in building her firm, establishing her brand and mentoring others on how to do the same. Her experience in the ‘business of design’ made her the perfect keynote speaker for the event. The fact that her work is being featured in the April issue of Traditional Home presented the opportunity for us to ask the style editor from one of the top publications in the industry to share her thoughts from a media perspective. We think the topic is both relevant and essential for any design professional looking to grow their business.”

The event begins at 8:30 a.m. with a gourmet hot breakfast. The presentation will begin at 9 a.m. and will last one hour, including the question and answer session, followed by an opportunity for attendees to browse the Lexington showroom. Seating is limited to 130 guests, and RSVPs are required.
