Tony Wais Design Debuts in High Point

Tony Wais Designs will make its High Point Furniture Market next month when it opens a new showroom in the Commerce & Design Building, space 4J.

Tony Wais Design is the creation of Tony Abrahim, a native of the Silk Road region of Central Asia, and a trader there for more than 20 years. Abrahim has teamed with Stuart Hough, a U.S. and Parisian antique dealer for 30 years, to create three collections under the TWD umbrella. These collections will be stocked and distributed in the United States through a warehouse and showroom in Stamford, Conn.

The first collection is the Tony Wais Collection, featuring furniture, rugs, fabrics, and accessories from all over Asia, incorporating Abrahim’s penchant for bold, bright colors. This collection features a series of mid-century seating forms covered in vintage Indian textiles.

The second collection is the Peking Duck Trading Co., which imports antique and vintage furnishings and accessories from all over the world.

The third collection is the J. Stuart Collection, incorporating custom-designed leather upholstery and faithful re-creations of country antiques made from reclaimed timber, in both natural woods and painted finishes.
