The new location is three times larger than its previous location in Union City, Calif. The new facility allows the importer to ship out all confirmed orders within two days, according to Henry Limarta, CEO. Previously, the service interval for shipping products was three to five days from the time of confirmed order. “Will call” orders are available for pickup with 24-hour notice.
“The new facility eases the space issues we had faced and puts us in a position to deliver an even higher level of service to our customers,” Limarta said.
New Pacific Direct maintains stock on about 80 percent of its line at the new California facility, from which it services the entire United States and Canada. The warehouse carries a deep inventory of quick-ship items that are “always available within two weeks,” said Limarta.
New Pacific Direct also offers a mixed container program out of China and Indonesia, near its source factories.
New Pacific Direct specializes in leather, rattan and solid-wood furniture, including dining chairs and tables, barstools, buffets and wine racks; occasional tables, media consoles, ottomans and bookcases; accent chairs, chests, cabinets and room dividers; and beds and storage pieces. Styles range from transitional to modern.
At the April High Point Market, New Pacific Direct will expand the fabric selection on its seating products with a variety of new geometric and chevron patterns as well as a fresh assortment of velvets. Other introductions planned for market include new mid-century modern case goods and upholstered chairs, distressed-finish metal accent chairs and upholstered dining chairs with stylish metal frames.
“Business has been good in 2013 and should grow steadily in 2014,” Limarta said. “As we are a California-based company, our coverage is strongest in the West region. In the past few years, we also have expanded our territory coverage in the East and South and opened up a number of new markets.”
New Pacific Direct’s customer base includes leading Top 100 retailers and a mix of mid-sized and smaller independents.
Going forward, New Pacific Direct’s strategy for growth focuses on delivering fashionable furniture at a great value.
“We see our products more as a fashion item than a commodity, so customers will always see new, fresh, design-oriented items from us without the hefty price tag,” Limarta said.
