Creative Registry Opens in West Hollywood

Design consultant Susan Manrao  will be opening a showroom, Creative Registry, in West Hollywood, Calif., next week.

The space is dedicated to one-of-a-kind, indie luxury decorative products and furnishings.  Manrao’s venture is a source for bespoke on-trend design products for designers and the public. Manrao is hosting an opening and sample sale Sunday. Products can be seen online at Manrao’s Design Writ Large Blog.

“When someone needs that showstopper conversation piece for a room, I want them to think of Creative Registry," Manrao said. "Every product we carry is about creating an emotional connection beyond the visual realm.”

The eclectic showroom showcases products from across the globe and highlights items chosen for their singular character and rarity.  Manrao said she has a compulsive appreciation of artful design and anything visually arresting. Inspired by her tenure at the W Hotel brand in New York, the 13-year veteran of the New York creative industry seeks out the undiscovered and unusual in the accessories and furnishings market.

“Every product we carry at Creative Registry has a story," she said. "I love to see people surprised and inspired by the uniqueness of the items here, and then when they hear me tell them the story about the piece, that’s when they really fall in love. Bringing clients, colleagues and customers through this discovery process is my favorite part of what I do.”

Manrao has enlisted fellow designers, artists, and furniture makers—many of whom are debuting on the West Coast—to curate a mix of innovative, artisanal, and vintage lifestyle products and art pieces. Featured products and furnishings include: Bespoke Woodworking by Mae Brown, Reclaimed Slate Art Tiles by Daniel Heath, Glass Blown Barnacles by Michael Skura of Living Glass, and Botanical Sculptures by Little World Design.

“The Creative Registry Showroom opens onto my design studio where guests are always welcome to take a tour," Manrao said. "I've focused on creating a very visual and interactive work environment to educate, enliven and engage people. When you see things of beauty every day, your can’t help but be inspired.”
