IIDA Opens Nominations for Educator, Member of the Year
February 19,
2014 by in Designer Weekly
The educator of the ar award was created to honor the accomplishments and commitment to interior design by a full-time educator. The award recipient will receive a $10,000 and a complimentary 2015 IIDA Membership.
“Educators play a vital role in advancing design, guiding students’ understanding and helping them to reach the level of potential that the profession expects of them,” said Cheryl Durst, executive vice president and CEO. “This is why we are proud to once again offer the IIDA Educator of the Year Award — to honor the integrity and dedication of the full-time educator, who ensures a solid foundation on which the design student can build a brilliant career.”
The honoree will be selected by a committee and will be notified in mid-May.
The member of the year recognizes an IIDA member who shows outstanding volunteer service.
“Each year there is a significant number of outstanding Members whose talents, skills and passion for design and the profession directly support the mission of IIDA,” Durst said. “We look forward to receiving an abundance of applications reflecting the level of dedication found among the membership, and to reviewing the many wonderful contributions that members have made to the organization in this past year.”
The member of the year will be determined by the IIDA International Board during the Spring board meeting, and the recipient will be notified in April.
The awards will be presented at the organization's annual meeting Sunday, June 8 at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago.
