IMS Helps 6 Charities
December 27,
2013 by in Community / Charitable Support
Earlier this year, to celebrate the company’s 30th anniversary, IMS, parent company of mattress retailers Mattress Warehouse, Sleep Outfitters and Mattress King, gave away a queen mattress set each week for 30 weeks. People registered each week on Facebook and the weekly winner was selected by random drawing. IMS asked those winners to nominate local charities to receive another 30 mattresses.
IMS dubbed its more recent charitable campaign the Gift of Sleep.
“This year we gave away 30 new mattresses to celebrate our company’s 30th anniversary,” said Winfield, W.Va.-based IMS owner Kim Knopf.” Now we’ve asked our 30 winners to nominate charities in their hometowns. The top six vote-getting charities will receive five mattresses each.”
Fifteen of IMS’s 30 winners answered the call and nominated local charities in the winners’ communities.
Facebook voting began midnight Dec. 13 and ran through Dec. 24. Each of the top six vote-getting charities will receive five new mattresses each from IMS.
The winning charitable organizations announced on Dec. 26 are:
• Home of the Innocents, Louisville, Ky.
• St. Paul de Vincent Society, Marietta, Ohio.
• Faith Mission, Columbus, Ohio.
• Chrysalis House, Lexington, Ky.
• Latrobe Street Mission, Parkersburg, W.Va.
• Bethany House, Cincinnati.
IMS officials will contact all winning charities next week in order to make arrangements to deliver the mattresses.
