Nature's Sleep Gets Artsy

The company, which is devoted to crafting different mattresses tailored to different comfort needs, will run the contest through February 15.

“Sleeping is different for each individual and discovering that perfect mattress is like discovering a great work of art,” said Marc Werner, CEO/founder of Nature’s Sleep. “You may not hang the mattress on your wall for others to admire, but you look forward to seeing it every night and appreciate how it makes you feel.”

After attending the Art Basel in Miami and seeing mattresses turned into a work of art, Nature’s Sleep saw it as an opportunity for others to creatively express what The Art of Sleep means to them.

“Sleeping is more than just going to bed. It’s taking the time to care for yourself — rejuvenating and refueling your body. When you wake up feeling well rested, the entire day takes on new meaning,” said Werner.

The contest doesn’t require the most talented or elaborate approach, but rather creativity that showcases fun and the unexpected.

“We don’t expect you to paint on your mattress, but if you want you can,” said Werner.

Individuals can create any work of art, from a painting or drawing to a photo. Just make sure it revolves around sleep, a bed or mattress. It can be as simple as taking a picture of the artwork and propping it on a mattress, or it can just be a photo of sleeping in bed. The only boundaries to creatively crafting The Art of Sleep are the imagination and good taste.

Nature’s Sleep has created a Web site for entering the contest and submitting works of art. 

At the close of the contest, Nature’s Sleep will announce the winner. The winner will have the choice between a $500 cash prize or any Nature’s Sleep mattress. For those that want to vote, but not submit a work of art, they will need to register on the contest site. All registrants will be entered into a drawing to win a Nature’s Sleep product valued over $250.
