Surya to Showcase Radiant Orchid

Offering a number of products in a full range of luminous purple hues, including orchids and violets, as well as bold fuchsias and softer shades of lavender and mauve, Surya’s design team had anticipated the shift towards more vibrant and dimensional hues such as Radiant Orchid,a color that is at once visually bold yet retains a sense of depth and intrigue.

“Lively and multi-faceted colors such as Radiant Orchid have been trending well this year and we will continue to incorporate a full spectrum of vivid purples and coordinating tonals into our rug designs and other home accessories,” said Lynne Meredith, vice president of product development, Surya, Calhoun, Ga. “These hues are not only very inviting to the eye but also contain absorbing undertones that reveal themselves differently depending on proximity to other colors and subtle changes in light. Radiant Orchid imbues objects with a beautiful glow and exotic feel that speaks to creativity and possibility while being versatile enough to pair with a number of complementary colors such as olive and teal, as well as neutrals, including grays, taupes and beiges.”

Surya’s Radiant Orchid Pinterest board has more than 3,400 followers. In addition, several color stories in the fuchsia, purple and pink family have been featured throughout the year on Surya’s social media sites, including, Plum, Berry and Magenta.

Referred to by Pantone as “expressive and blooming with confidence and warmth,” the 2014 Color of the Year will take center stage both on the runway and in living spaces during the coming year. Surya will showcase hundreds of rugs, pillows, throws and other home accessories in Radiant Orchid and complementary hues at the Atlanta, Dallas and Las Vegas winter markets.
