Reverie Moves to Permanent HQ in Michigan

The company has signed a lease for an 11,000-square-foot office space at 750 Denison Court in Bloomfield Hills, a suburb of Detroit; and plans to employ 40 people at the site over the course of the next 24 months, many of those new hires.
“Our company is going through a tremendous growth period, and Michigan was extremely attractive due to a favorable business climate as well as an incredibly skilled talent pool,” said Reverie President and CEO Martin Rawls-Meehan. "We view the Detroit area as a hotbed of technology and innovation and while we can benefit from that, we also want to play a part in the region’s continued revitalization. Having grown up in Michigan, I have strong personal ties to the area and have already relocated to join my core team and assist in building a strong presence there.”
Reverie initiated its move to Michigan in March of 2012, taking temporary space while selecting and renovating its brand new offices, which will serve as the company’s flagship location for sales, marketing and research & development. Modeled after the collaborative office spaces found among companies such as Google and Quicken Loans, Reverie’s offices were designed to encourage creativity and communication through the use of open floor plans and common lounge and kitchen areas. Aiming to help employees enjoy their workplace environment, the company’s new offices offer conveniences such as an on-site gym as well as free food, drinks and popcorn machines for snacking.
“We wanted to build an office space that is more than functional--it’s a collaborative and happy environment," said Rawls-Meehan. "Our valued employees are the key to our success and we’re investing in them with the creation of a positive, open atmosphere. Evidence suggests that when employees enjoy their work and their workspace, that enjoyment feeds into motivation and eventually greater productivity. It’s a win-win.”
The new space includes 2,000 square feet dedicated to research and development and another 2,000 square feet for a call center to be staffed by up to 20 operators. The company already has hired and will continue to seek qualified product designers, engineers and Web designers, as well as sales and marketing personnel to round-out its team.
The move will not impact staffing at Reverie’s other facilities located in Eden and Silver Creek, N.Y.
