Buddys Home Furnishings, a rent-to-own furniture, appliance and electronics store, has opened its first location in Virginia in Mt. Cross Plaza at 365 Lowes Drive in Danville.
The new 6,000-square-foot store had its grand opening from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday with TV and cash giveaways, free food and a live broadcast with DJs from 102 Jamz, according to a company news release.

The co-owner of a Fruitland Park, Fla., rent-to-own store stands accused of pointing a gun at a customer who complained about a receiving a sofa and loveseat with bedbugs, Fruitland Park police said. The Daily Commercial of Leesburg reports that Todd Pomerleau, 32, of 409 Richy Road, Leesburg, was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm and booked into the Lake County jail under $7,000 bond.
