Natuzzi, Italy’s largest furniture maker, announced Monday it has appointed a senior vice president of operations and a chief financial officer as it moves ahead with a three-year plan designed to significantly boost the leather seating manufacturer’s sales.
Mariano Domingo, who joins Natuzzi on Nov. 10 as CFO, had an 18-year career with Sara Lee, a Fortune 500 company, that included overseeing the company’s Iberian operations and serving as European project leader for a SAP implementation across all of the company’s European subsidiaries.
Umberto Bedini, who will join the company as senior vice president of operations in early 2009, is a business consultant who helped develop the company’s three-year business plan, which calls for Natuzzi to boost sales beyond 1 billion euros annually in 2011. Since 2004, he has headed Italy’s ECA Consulting.
Tuesday’s announcement did not state whether Domingo and Bedini are filling vacant positions or replacing executives currently on staff.
In an announcement, CEO Aldo Uva said the new executives’ “contributions will be decisive in achieving the objectives we have set for ourselves.”
