Carl’s, Coconut Creek, Fla., and the city of Miami Gardens have teamed up to present a new contest for aspiring artists, according to a report in the Miami Herald.
The Floridian Soul Contemporary Art Contest and Exhibition will offer visual artists an opportunity to showcase their creations at an exclusive gallery event, which starts Nov. 21 at the Carl’s Miami Gardens store. The inaugural competition, themed “Evolution, Love and Light,” is open to visual artists working in two- and three-dimensional formats. All works submitted must be specifically created for the contest. Participants must be 18 years of age or older.
Submissions will be accepted at the store through this Friday, with the winners remaining on display and available for sale in the store’s gallery until March.
“We hope the artist community will take advantage of this great opportunity. This venue has been created to give artists a chance to create an identity for themselves and their unique styles,” Karmen Gonzalez, project director for Carl’s, said in the report.
