Bob’s Discount Furniture to Hold Family Fire Safety Day

By Home Furnishings Business in Furniture Retailing on October 2008 Saturday, Nov. 1 is Family Fire Safety Day at Bob’s Discount Furniture stores throughout the Northeast. The Manchester, Conn.-based retailer has invited families to the stores from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for an event it’s billing as “The Bob’s Fantastic Fire Safety Day.” Fire fighters from local fire departments will be on hand Bob’s Discount Furniture locations and to offer fire prevention and safety instructions.

“It’s crucial for every family to develop a household fire safety prevention plan. That’s why Bob’s Discount Furniture has arranged for local fire departments to visit our locations this Saturday and offer children and their families’ important safety instructions and techniques to remain safe all year long. Local fire fighters will be on hand to answer any questions and talk about fire prevention methods,” said Bob Kaufman, president of Bob’s Discount Furniture.

The first 75 families to visit each Bob’s Discount Furniture location will receive a copy of the new Bob’s Discount Furniture “Fire Safety CD,” and all families can enter to win a Royal Caribbean Cruise for four people valued at more than $5,000. Refreshments, prizes and free food will be available.

Bob’s Discount Furniture has 31 stores in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Jersey, New Hampshire, New York and Rhode Island.
