The International Sleep Products Association has added a new sustainability section to its Web site that features information on recycling used mattress components, green marketing rules in foreign markets, green chemistry, the Mattress Industry Sustainability Initiative, and a section highlighting an innovative design competition focused on mattress recycling.
The Web site will give ISPA members, as well as consumers and the media, a resource for finding out about how mattress manufacturers and their suppliers are taking environmentally sound and economically practical actions to improve the long-term sustainability of the industry.
“We’ve created the new Sustainability section to not only keep our members abreast of green developments that affect our industry, but to give ISPA members tools that they can use to learn more about how to improve the environmental performance of their businesses and their products,” said Ryan Trainer, ISPA vice president and general counsel. “Members can use this site to locate used mattress component recycling facilities that may be operating near them, find outlets for recycled materials they want to sell, and learn about ISPA’s efforts to improve the recycling of used mattress components.”
