Knoll Posts Strong Quarter

By Home Furnishings Business in Home Office on October 2008 Knoll, a manufacturer of office and residential furniture, reported the results of a strong third quarter Thursday. Sales increased 11.6 percent to $283.5 million and net income jumped 31 percent to $24.1 million during the period that ended September 30.

“Our focus on high design content businesses together with a rigorous, proactive and environmentally responsible business philosophy continued to produce industry-leading levels of profitability,” said Andrew Hogan, CEO of the East Greenville, Pa.-based company. “We realize that we could be in for a bumpy ride ahead, but are confident that with our strong balance sheet, talented associates and committed dealers that we will be able to handle whatever comes at us.”

The company expects its fourth-quarter revenue to be in the range of $278 million to $283 million.
