DOC Extends Deadline for Review of Wood Bedroom Furniture from China

By Home Furnishings Business in Bedroom on June 2008 The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) announced in the Federal Register that it will extend the time limit for its latest administrative and new shipper reviews of wood bedroom furniture from China until no later than August 11.

A ruling had been due by June 12 for an administrative review of subject merchandise covering the year 2006, and a review of new shippers of wood bedroom furniture from China during the same time frame.

Preliminary results of those reviews were published Feb. 13 this year. The preliminary so-called All-China rate was a little more than 216 percent for goods shipped in 2006, but numerous companies will receive individual rates, and some will receive a “Section A” rate typically much lower than the All-China duty.
