DOC Issues Preliminary Rulings on 2 New Shippers

By Home Furnishings Business in Bedroom on June 2008 The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) has issued preliminary antidumping rulings for two new shippers in Dongguan, China, of wood bedroom furniture covering the period from Jan. 1 through July 31, 2007.

DOC determined that Mu Si has made sales at less than normal value, and assigned a preliminary duty rate of 103.55 percent on subject merchandise shipped to the United States during the time frame in question. Another manufacturer, Bon Ton, was found not to have dumped furniture during the seven-month period and received no preliminary duties on its goods.

A final result of these new shipper reviews is due within 90 days of the preliminary ruling.
