High Point Market Budget Could Get Trimmed

By Home Furnishings Business in High Point on May 2008 North Carolina’s budget planners are considering slight cuts to state funding of the High Point Furniture Market, according to a report in Friday’s News & Record (Greensboro, N.C.).

Budget writers are trimming across the board to accommodate priority items such as mental health and transportation.

The proposal would trim marketing for the event by 1 percent from $875,000, instead of expanding that figure by $2.6 million, according to the report.
