Furniture Brands International (FBI), St. Louis, announced Wednesday that Shelley Peters has been named director of licensing. Peters, who previously led brand licensing operations at FBI division Thomasville, will expand the Thomasville approach to branding to other FBI companies.
Under Peters’ direction, Thomasville expanded beyond furniture into residential flooring, lighting and kitchen cabinets. Now she will coordinate licensing opportunities for Broyhill, Drexel Heritage, Henredon and Lane, as well as Thomasville.
“We have some of the best-known and -respected brands in the home furnishings industry, and they form the perfect cornerstone for a national licensing strategy,” said FBI Chairman and CEO Ralph Scozzafava in an announcement. “A robust licensing program will focus on leveraging the power of our market-leading brands into new and adjacent home furnishings categories. This increases consumer awareness for our core furniture offerings and creates an additional income stream that provides a tangible return on our brand equity.”
