Target, Minneapolis, is debuting an exclusive collection of bedding, decorative accessories, furniture and stationery with designer Sami Hayek. Designed with the student in mind, the contemporary collection features products from comforters and sheets to photo frames and notebooks in bold colors and designs.
Hayek established Sami Hayek Studio in 2003. Known for blending styles, materials and scales, Hayek’s native Mexico has always been a strong influence and is evident throughout his collection for Target.
“For me, design is about translating objects into stories and experiences,” Hayek said in a release announcing the collection with Target. “My new collection for Target reflects my core design beliefs, which include structure, humor and a commitment to sustainable design.”
Bedding includes comforters, sheets, pillows and quilts of bright pinks, grays and chocolate browns paired with different patterns and textures that can easily be mixed and matched. Decorative accessories include photo frames, wall art, lamps, media storage and even a piggy bank. Hayek’s furniture collection includes a desk, desk chair, file cabinet and bookshelf. Stationery items such as magazine holders, notebooks and letter trays round out the collection.
“The Sami Hayek for Target collection arrives just in time for back to college, and provides our guests with vibrant decor and furnishing options that add a hint of surprise,” said Gina Sprenger, senior vice president of merchandising, Target. “Anyone who values function and practicality housed in great design will gravitate toward Hayek’s product.”
Target has 1,613 stores in 47 states nationwide.
