ARTS Awards Nominations Now Being Accepted

By Home Furnishings Business in Accessories on March 25, 2010 The Dallas Market Center and the Accessories Resource Team are accepting nominations for the 22nd annual ARTS Awards.

The ARTS Awards, presented each January during the Dallas Total Home & Gift Market, recognizes top manufacturers, retailers, product designers and sales representatives from every region of the U.S. Winners will be announced during a gala event Saturday, Jan. 22 and will recognize 27 different categories, including a new Green Award.

€œThe addition of the Green Award celebrates sustainability and encourages manufacturers to be
proactive and environmentally friendly,€ said Cindy Morris, COO, Dallas Market Center.
 
The new Green Award recognizes manufacturers for excellence in eco-friendly practices and
standards. This award celebrates the accomplishments of a manufacturer that has exemplified or
exceeded the standards of sustainability in the home industry. All manufacturer finalists will be
eligible to compete in this new, optional category. 
 
Anyone in the home furnishings industry may nominate in all categories. Neither membership in
ART nor representation at Dallas Market Center is necessary. Nomination deadline is July 2.

The awards categories are as follows:
 
Manufacturer Awards in Accent Furniture, Area Rugs, Decorative Accessories, Home Textiles, Lighting Fixtures, Outdoor Living, Permanent Floral, Portable Lamps, Tabletop, Wall Décor and the Green Award;

Retailer Awards for International Retailer, Regional Furniture Store, Regional Lighting Showroom and Regional Home Accent Store; and
 
Individual Awards for Product Designer of the Year, Sales Representative of the Year, Rising Star and Academy of Achievement.
