Bob’s Discount Furniture to Support Pet Adoption

By Home Furnishings Business in Furniture Retailing on May 2008 Bob’s Discount Furniture, Manchester, Conn., will join with humane societies, animal shelters and rescue centers on “Have A Heart Day” Saturday, May 17, 11 a.m.–2 p.m., to encourage donations of pet bedding, treats, new or gently used toys, and new transportation crates for needy dogs and cats. All families are invited to visit their nearest Bob’s Discount Furniture location on “Have A Heart Day” for a day of meaningful fun and also help to find homes for these loving pets.

“I would like to invite parents and children to join us on Have A Heart Day,” said Bob Kaufman, president of Bob’s Discount Furniture. “Even if you can only stop by for a couple of minutes, please take a moment to either donate a pet item or perhaps meet one of the many representatives from the humane society or animal shelter and learn about adopting a kitten or puppy. There are so many pets in need of supplies and homes that we are on the way to making this one of our biggest community awareness campaigns to date.”

All Bob’s Discount Furniture locations in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York and Rhode Island will be accepting pet donations.

In addition, the Radio Disney promotions team will be making a special appearance on “Have A Heart Day” at the Bob’s Discount Furniture locations at 240 E. Sunrise Hwy. in Freeport, N.Y.; 201 Federal Rd. in Brookfield, Conn.; 428 Tolland Turnpike in Manchester, Conn.; and 263 Broadway in Saugus, Mass.. There will be a variety of entertainment features, food and prize giveaways at all locations.

With every donation, each family member will be able to register for the eight-day Royal Caribbean Cruise Grand Prize valued at more than $3,500.
