World Market Center Opens For Juvenile Expo

By Home Furnishings Business in Las Vegas on August 2007 The World Market Center in Las Vegas announced that at least 34 exhibitors focused on the youth and baby markets will be open Sept. 7-10. The ABC Kids Expo will be occurring during the same week at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

“The upcoming juvenile show in Las Vegas provides a tremendous opportunity for our tenants to reach new buyers and serve existing accounts,” said Babs Blair, vice president of World Market Center, in an announcement that did not refer to the ABC Kids Expo by name. “Our city is very unique in that we have quite a few related events and conventions linked to the home furnishings industry occurring throughout the year.”

A free shuttle service will be offered to the World Market Center from the Convention Center and the nearby Las Vegas Hilton each day from 7 a.m. until noon.

Powell Co. is among World Market Center exhibitors expecting to attract buyers from the cross-town show. It introduced two youth-themed collections at the Las Vegas Market last month.

“We saw one of the best turnouts for those interested in youth furnishings during World Market Center’s summer market,” said Tom Liddell, Powell’s senior vice president of national sales. “We anticipate success with the crowd of dedicated youth furniture retailers attending the juvenile expo.”
