Hooker Furniture (NASDAQ-GS: HOFT), Martinsville, Va., has named Mike Delgatti to the new position of executive vice president of sales and marketing for Hooker Furniture Upholstery. Delgatti will oversee sales, marketing and merchandising for Cherryville, N.C.-based leather seating specialist Bradington-Young; and Bedford, Va.-based custom chair specialist Sam Moore.
Since January of last year, Delgatti has served as executive vice president of Merchandising at Bradington-Young.
"In just a little over a year, Mike's contributions at Bradington-Young have been exceptional," said Alan Cole, president and CEO of Hooker Furniture Upholstery. "He has extensive experience in the integration of sales, marketing and merchandising, and this is a strategic move to more fully realize the synergy between the two companies."
Under Delgatti's leadership, Sam Moore and Bradington-Young will focus on cross-merchandising initiatives, such as correlating leather sofas and sectionals with Sam Moore occasional seating. The companies will be better able to share strengths and best practices, such as improving fabric seating capabilities at Bradington-Young and leather capabilities at Sam Moore.
Delgatti continues to report to Cole. Reporting to Delgatti are Craig Young, senior vice president of sales at Bradington-Young; and Frank Richardson, vice president of sales at Sam Moore.
Prior to joining Hooker Furniture Upholstery, Delgatti was executive vice president of sales and marketing at Southern Furniture Company. Previously he served as president of Clayton Marcus, and as executive vice president of merchandising for occasional and upholstery product lines at Broyhill Furniture.
