SFC Incorporates, Sets Market Events

The Sustainable Furniture Council has completed its legal incorporation in the state of Delaware just as the recently formed organization prepares for the upcoming High Point Market.
The council is a non-profit industry association committed to promoting sustainable manufacturing and other business practices within the home furnishings industry and to raising awareness about environmentally-friendly choices among consumers and buyers.
Spearheaded by a group of furniture industry volunteers, membership is open to individuals or companies aligning themselves with the organization’s mission. About 35 charter members will have an active role in defining initial standards requirements for SFC-endorsed furniture companies.
The organization will kick off the spring High Point Market with an evening event in the South Cone showroom Monday, March 26 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Cisco Brothers will host another party Tuesday, March 27 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.
GREENStyle, an SFC moniker, will be celebrated in the Century Courtyard at Historic Market Square Wednesday, March 28, from 6 until 8 p.m. All market attendees are invited.
Throughout the market dates, SFC members will man its booth inside the GREENStyle Pavilion at the Suites at Market Square with membership and certification information. A GREENStyle Market map will also be available, marking SFC member locations throughout the tradeshow. SFC member showrooms will additionally feature GREENStyle signs.
