Culp, one of the largest marketers of mattress and upholstery fabrics, announced that Kenneth Bowling has been named chief financial officer, effective May 1. Bowling has been Culp’s vice president of finance and treasurer since 2004.
Bowling joined the High Point, N.C.-based company in 1997 as controller for the former Culp Velvets/Prints division. Prior to joining Culp, he was controller of a division of Hamilton Beach/Proctor Silex.
“Ken Bowling is well qualified to become chief financial officer of Culp,” said Frank Saxon, the company’s president. “With over ten years of financial experience with the company, he has a deep understanding of our business and what it takes to manage and product our financial assets.”
In the new position, Bowling will report to Saxon, who will become the company’s CEO on May 1.
