Furniture First Sets High Point Meeting

By Home Furnishings Business in High Point on March 2007 Furniture First, a buying group representing 320 stores in 42 states, will hold its biannual meeting in downtown High Point on the eve of the March 26 to April 1 High Point Market, officials announced Wednesday.

Bill Hartman, president of the Harrisburg, Pa.-based organization said the majority of the group’s members will be attending the market, so Furniture First’s private event will be held on Sunday, March 25 in the High Point Theatre, which the High Point Market Authority made available to the group.

He said there are buying opportunities for the group’s members that are only available in High Point, and added, “They also appreciate the many amenities that have been added to Market in recent years.”

Market Authority President and CEO Brian Casey said, “The members of Furniture First understand the value of the High Point Market and are benefiting from the ideal networking atmosphere here, as well as the opportunity for buyers to find the styles, products and sources that make for a competitive retail business that they can’t find anywhere else.”
