World Market Center Announces Special Events

The World Market Center has announced its schedule of special events and seminars during the upcoming Jan. 29-Feb. 2 Las Vegas Market. Highlights include a Grand Opening Party for Building B on Monday, Jan. 29, beginning at 5:30, and daily seminars in a newly expanded Retailer Resource Center on the 16th Floor of the new building.
The NHFA/WHFA Retailer Resource Center will occupy more than 7,000 square feet in the new $345 million, 1.6-million-square-foot Building B. The expanded space includes a larger seminar room with seating for 100 people, an Internet cafe, coffee bar and other amenities. “We can be even more of an education resource and business tool to attending retailers, making their Las Vegas Market trip even more beneficial,” said Cindi Williams, director of events for the WHFA, which produces many of the seminars for the Las Vegas Market.
Highlights of the more than 30 seminars on the schedule include a design presentation by Candice Olson, host of HGTV’s Divine Design program, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 30, at the Cashman Center Theater. The Color Association will present a Colorwatch Seminar in the Building B Seminar Room at 11 a.m. on Monday Jan. 29. , Charles Stiles, who operates a secret shopper evaluation company, will give tips to improving customer service in a presentation titled Perception is Reality at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 1, in the NHFA/WHFA Retailer Resource Center.
In addition, the World Market Center will host a number of events including Breakfast at Cashman Center from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 30 through Thursday, Feb. 1. The Cashman Center and the Pavilions Cafe in Pavilion 1 will each be the site of daily wine and cheese parties from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30 to Friday, Feb. 2, and there will be a Twilight Wine and Cheese Soiree on Wednesday, Jan. 31 at 5:30 p.m. in Building A and Building B. The following night, Thursday, Feb. 1, there will be a Desserts, Cocktails and Jazz event in the atriums of both buildings, starting at 5:30 p.m.
