Davis Starts Pop-Up Stores for Furniture

By Home Furnishings Business in Furniture Retailing on February 10, 2010 Jeff Davis has ventured out to open a new retail concept that will host furniture sales throughout the year in the Charlotte, N.C. area through Furniture Liquidators of America.

Furniture Liquidators is the brainchild of Innovision Retail, the company Davis started when he left Klaussner Furniture in 2008. Through Innovision Retail, Davis had owned the Klaussnerhome Furnishings in Greensboro, N.C.. That store is now a corporately owned store.

Through relationships with the industry's best manufacturers and suppliers, Furniture Liquidators of America will offer products, including close outs, overstocks and a limited assortment of best-selling items  during limited timed events. The pop-up stores will be a treasure hunter's paradise.

"As a result of the Great Recession of 2008 and 2009, shopping for everything from commodities such as groceries to higher commitment purchases such as home furnishings, has changed," Davis said. "Shoppers are seeking trusted products at an appreciable value more than ever, which is what Furniiture Liquidators of America is all about."

A Charlotte, N.C., store is now open  at 7201 Smith Corners Blvd., and the sale is running through the end of March when a new location will be determined and announced.

Planned retail initiatives for this year include operating as many as 10 pop up events in the Southeast via Furniture Liquidators of America, Furniture Market Roadshow and Furniturethon brands, as well as the opening of two Groovy Scavenger stores in Charlotte and Greensboro.
