By Home Furnishings Business in Executive Changes on May 13, 2013

Valdese Weavers has named three executives to its Valdese Weavers Contract division: Scott George, Fay McFetridge and Rosemary Haley.

Blake Millinor, senior vice president and chief marketing officer, said the additions will have a positive impact on the future development of the contract business for the company.

George has joined the company as vice president/sales and marketing of Valdese Weavers Contract.

€œScott brings over 25 years of experience managing and growing textile businesses and will provide a seamless transition in providing leadership to fulfill the Valdese Weavers Contract overall growth strategy,€ Millinor said.

George joined the industry with Milliken in 1981. Beginning in 1986 with a move to Grand Rapids, Mich., his textile career has been associated with the contract industry through senior management positions with a number of companies. George will be relocating to the Valdese/Hickory area.

McFetridge joins Valdese Weavers Contract as design director. She will focus on developing new products for the contract market with an emphasis on custom development. McFetridge has more than 20 years of experience in textiles, with an earlier stint as a designer at Valdese Weavers and most recently as design manager for Cone Jacquards.

€œFay is returning to Valdese Weavers to focus on the hospitality side of our contract business," said Laura Levinson, senior vice president of design and merchandising. "Fay€™s strength in construction and weave development will be a great asset to our contract design team."

A graduate from the Scottish College of Textiles, McFetridge lives in Morganton, N.C.

Harley joined Valdese Weavers as senior designer last year. She will focus on developing products for the contract area both in seating and privacy curtain fabrics.

€œWe are excited to have Rosemary€™s talents added to our contract team," Levinson said. Her experience in the privacy curtain market will help us produce products suitable for this area."

Harley has a degree from Philadelphia University and has 14 years experience in the contract industry having held design positions at Craftex, Victor, and most recently Bentex Mills.
