Junior League, Traditional Home Team for N.C. ShowHouse

By Home Furnishings Business in Special Events on April 3, 2013

The Junior League of Greensboro, N.C., and national media sponsor Traditional Home magazine are partnering for the Junior League of Greensboro 2013 ShowHouse

The 2013 JLG ShowHouse will feature the Adamsleigh estate, designed in 1928 for High Point textile magnet John Hampton "Hamp" Adams, co-founder of Adams-Millis Corp., the first High Point-based company to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

The JLG ShowHouse at 3301 Alamance Rd. in Greensboro has around 15,000 square feet and comprises 33 rooms, including 10 bedrooms. The home covers 13.5 acres, which feature pools, a lake, tennis courts, a stone gazebo and a five-car garage. Traditional Home will work in conjunction with the JLG to feature the work of the finest national and local interior designers, who will draw inspiration from the history of the Adamsleigh property.

The 2013 JLG ShowHouse will open with a Patron's Gala on the evening of Friday, April 19, and afterward will be open to the public for a two-week period, Saturday, April 20-Sunday, May 5. The 2013 JLG ShowHouse will coincide with the April 20-25 High Point Furniture Market

Tickets for admission to the Showhouse are $25 in advance, $30 at the door. With each admission, guests will participate in a self-guided tour and will receive a 2013 JLG ShowHouse program. All 2013 JLG ShowHouse proceeds will benefit the Junior League of Greensboro and its mission of promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.

"When the Junior League of Greensboro approached us about helping them bring the Adamsleigh Estate to life for the organization's 2013 ShowHouse, we were incredibly honored and excited," said Ann Maine, editor-in-chief of Traditional Home. "The Adamsleigh Estate provides the perfect venue for timeless design and modern living to come together in a fresh new way.  And it's a privilege to help the JLG raise funds to continue their support of the local community."

"The Junior League of Greensboro, in our 85th anniversary year, is thrilled to be partnering with such a prestigious and well-known national publication for our 2013 ShowHouse," said Emily Faucher, Junior League president. "Traditional Home magazine is a remarkable publication, and The Junior League could not be more excited about this partnership. We are certain this will be our best ShowHouse to date. The funds raised from our 2013 ShowHouse will enable the Junior League of Greensboro to further our mission of leadership development and community impact, as we strive to make a marked difference in local education, and  specifically, at Cone Elementary School."

Sponsors of the 2013 JLG ShowHouse include: Baker, Carolina Bank, Century, Circa, Eastern Accents, Hickory, High Point Market, Jeri K. D'Lugin JD, CLU, AEP, Karastan, Lane Venture, Lee Industries, Pearson, Stanton, Summer Classics, Sunbrella and Thibaut.  Vendors of the ShowHouse include: C2 Paint, CR Laine, Chelsea House, Currey & Company, French Heritage, French Market Collection, NDI Natural Decorations, Inc., Scalamandré, Thomas & Gray and Vietri.
