Jake Jabs Waits on Furniture Store Expansion

Jake Jabs, CEO of American Furniture Warehouse, is waiting to see how military cuts affect Colorado Springs before deciding whether to open a second store in the city, The Gazette reports.

The furniture retailer paid $8.29 million about two years ago for land along Powers Boulevard where it planned to open a store and warehouse. But after talking with friends and advisers Jabs said he is first going to gauge the fallout in the community from Department of Defense budget cuts.
