Magnussen Shuffles Management Team

Magnussen Home has changed its management and executive positions as part of its growth plan for this year and beyond.

"Magnussen Home plans to aggressively grow its business in volume and product categories over the next few years and part of the plan to achieve this growth involves building and developing Magnussen's management team for the next level of business activity," said Richard Magnussen, CEO. 

In order to accomplish this, Magnussen has implemented the following changes in management and executive positions:

Nathan Cressman has been named president of Magnussen Home. Cressman is primarily responsible for establishing the vision of the company, for implementing the strategic plan and overseeing product development and sales and marketing management. 

He began his career with Magnussen in 1997 as product development manager and since 2009 has been senior vice president of sales, marketing and product development. 

Magnussen will remain CEO for Magnussen Home and  will continue to focus on building a strong management team. 

Kent MacFarlane has been named CFO. He oversees all financial and treasury functions for Magnussen Home as well as human resources for North America, administration and corporate governance. MacFarlane joined Magnussen Home as vice president of finance and administration in July 2009. Prior to joining Magnussen, he had 17 years of experience with KPMG and companies within the tech industry.

Russ Langford, COO retired from Magnussen Home at the end of 2012.

"Russ has done a great job developing the team and we are grateful for the vision and passion he has had for Magnussen Home over the past many years," Magnussen said.   "Russ's tenacity and focus is greatly appreciated when it comes to special projects and his commitment to the company by relocating to Vietnam during the establishment of the ADC."

With Langford's retirement the following changes have been implemented for Magnussen's PRD division:

Chris Kleine has been named vice president of Asia operations. Kleine is responsible for all of Asian management, product development, quality and administration. Kleine has worked for Magnussen for 26 years when he began working on the factory floor in Canada. He then moved into the customer care division, was then promoted 12 years ago to the quality control manager and then four years ago was named PRD/QC manager. Kleine currently resides in Vietnam.

Brian Beane has joined the company as product development manager. He is responsible for product development and resides in Vietnam. Beane began his experience in the furniture industry in procurement management in 1996 and has continued his career in import/project management in China and Vietnam and has owned and operated an upper-middle/high-end case goods business for most of the 2000s. 

For Magnussen's International division, Christina Sim will continue her role as international logistics senior manager. Sims continues to live in Vietnam, and she will be responsible for managing all the Asia logistics operations in regard to container programs, sales order processing, ocean freight management, compliance programs, corporate policies and processes, and ADC project liaison for new IT systems.

Sims has been with Magnussen for more than 12 years. She joined the company in 2001 working in the procurement department at the company's headquarters. Sims has 26 years experience in logistics, customer service and compliances.

For Magnussen's supply chain division, Mike Eichler has been named director of product demand and supply. He is responsible for total supply of product including factory management, inventory management and working with the sales team to ensure the best available forecast is used for the shipments plan. Eichler will also work closely with senior management to plan monthly and yearly projections based on updated requirements and business conditions, and oversee supply and demand in both Canadian and Vietnam offices. Eichler has been with the company for eight years in supply and demand. He has 17 years of supply chain and operations background in manufacturing and importing environments at Magnussen, Engel and NCR.

"I feel very confident in this Executive and Management team," Magnussen said. "This team is experienced, yet young and aggressive. This team thinks differently and has fresh innovative ideas that will help to continue Magnussen's growth for the future. This team is in place for the long term and through technology this lean team will continue to deliver value now and in the future."
