51 Exhibitors Renew Commitment to Las Vegas Market

By Home Furnishings Business in Las Vegas on January 25, 2013 Broyhill, Emerald Home and Lane are among 51 home furnishings vendors that have renewed their showroom leases for the Las Vegas Furniture Market.

Broyhill, which has been showing at the Las Vegas Market since the first event was held in the summer of 2005, has extended the lease on its 19,449-square-foot showroom in space A-1053. The company sees the Las Vegas Market as a key part of its national marketing strategy.

€œWe have relatively few customers that attend both the Las Vegas Market and the High Point Market,€ said Mark Stephens, president of the Lenoir, N.C.-based company. €œTherefore, we feel it€™s important that we continue to show in both markets so that we can maximize exposure to our entire customer base.€

At the Winter Market, Broyhill will spotlight major introductions made at the October High Point Market. In addition, it will feature €œsome exciting new elements to many of our collections that will be introduced in Las Vegas,€ Stephens added.

Another company that has extended its commitment to the market is Home Trends & Design, a source for solid-wood bedroom, dining room, living room and occasional furniture, which has signed a multiyear lease on its showroom in space B-0155. Based in Austin, Texas, Home Trends & Design has been showing at the Las Vegas Market since 2005.

€œThe Las Vegas Market continues to play a key role in our marketing strategy,€ said Hank Cravey, CEO and cofounder. €œWe€™ve seen a steady rise in our traffic over the past couple of shows, and last market we drew 30 new dealers. We€™re anticipating a great market in January. Most of our major customers have indicating that they€™ll be coming.€

At January€™s Market, Home Trends & Design will introduce several new collections of bedroom, dining room and occasional featuring an €œorganic, contemporary look,€ said Cravey. In addition, the company is remodeling its showroom, moving and painting walls and updating its entire product presentation for an airier feel.

VDG, a Minneapolis-based product development specialist and manufacturer in focused categories that include indoor and outdoor furniture, electric fireplaces and charcoal grills, also has renewed its lease on its 5,500-square-foot showroom in space B-1100. VDG has been showing at the Las Vegas Market for seven years, and its new agreement extends its lease by two years.

For the Winter Market, VDG is introducing new barstools, dining and accent chairs, said Claudia Montemayor, vice president of indoor furniture and design. The company also will feature a variety of show specials.

€œWe applaud all of the many companies that have chosen to renew the leases on their permanent showrooms heading into the winter market,€ said Craig Staack, vice president of home furnishings leasing for International Market Centers.  €œWe are gearing up for a robust and productive winter event.€
