Rhino Trunk Opens in High Point

By Home Furnishings Business in Accessories on October 8, 2012

Rhino Trunk & Case will make its furniture retail trade debut at the upcoming High Point Furniture Market.

Based in Rochester, N.Y., Rhino Trunk & Case makes and sells trunks, primarily through its distributor network of retailers to the camp and college markets. It also designs and manufactures trunks for the point of purchase and promotional products industries. Many of its products are used for storage and displays in retail environments.

In High Point, Rhino will launch a new line of wardrobe trunks in Suites at Market Square, space 1-618. The Rhino Wardrobe Trunk is a unique, traditional-looking trunk that beautifully conceals a fully functioning, compact dresser and closet. Four different styles of trunks will debut in High Point.

€œWe€™ve been fortunate to work on unique display and wardrobe-like projects for companies such as Bumble & Bumble, Brooks Brothers, and Ralph Lauren and felt that a wardrobe-trunk offering would be a great entry into the market,€ said Eric Vangellow, Rhino Trunk & Case president.

Many of the existing trunk-style furniture offerings, including Timothy Oulten€™s Mayfair Steamer Trunk Collection at Restoration Hardware, are made overseas. Rhino Trunk is looking to leverage its New York State manufacturing capabilities and offer designers and independent retailers pre-designed and COM wardrobe options with a six-to-eight week delivery. In addition, they will look to craft unique designs exclusively for larger retailers.

The wardrobe trunk measures 26-inches square when closed and is 47-inches tall. When open, it offers five full extension drawers on one side and an extendable hanging bar on the other. It is lockable and has a tongue and grove metal trim seal makes it relatively airtight.

Available in a wide array of finishes and colors, the wardrobe trunk stands on six casters to provide smooth mobility.  It is the epitome of high quality, efficiency and space conservation. The hanging bar accommodates at least 2 suits and 6 shirts on the hanging bar; and the drawers hold more than 10 pairs of jeans, 26 shirts, 6 sweaters and enough underwear to keep you away from the cleaners for at least two weeks.

€œAll of the trunks we make at Rhino are made in America with the absolutely highest quality materials," Vangellow said. "Our strong, handcrafted construction combines both old world trunk making skills, with CNC production and aviation rivet technology."
